Planet Chappy: Chappy’s Rebrand Launch
To mark the bold rebrand of LGBTQ+ dating app Chappy, the team behind Planet Chappy enlisted Wonderosity and queer culture collective POLARI to bring their new identity to life through a space-themed experiential dining experience and VIP afterparty. The goal was to launch the brand with impact, flair, and a futuristic twist that honoured their vibrant, inclusive community.
Hosted at the design-forward Coal Office in King’s Cross, the venue was transformed into a chic queer universe — Planet Chappy — where guests were invited to leave Earth behind and step into a bold, celebratory vision of the future. Wonderosity led the creative direction, immersive storytelling, entertainment curation, and production delivery, ensuring every detail reflected Chappy’s refreshed tone and purpose.
Key highlights of the activation included:
Immersive astrodrag performers who mingled with guests and brought Planet Chappy’s inhabitants to life with cosmic couture, high camp, and playful audience interaction
Roaming tarot readers offering space-themed cosmic readings, adding mystique and personalised connection to the guest experience
DJ Jonjo Jury soundtracking the evening with a curated set of futuristic disco-house — the perfect interstellar vibe for this celestial soirée
Personalised place cards featuring hand-drawn metallic portraits of each guest, directing them to their seat for dinner and acting as a stylish, memorable keepsake
‘Space arrangement’ floral centrepieces, designed using rare flower species and sculptural forms to evoke the feeling of otherworldly botanicals
Wonderosity also worked closely with the head chef at The Coal Office to develop a bespoke cocktail and dining menu that played with flavour, texture, and presentation — giving guests a literal taste of Planet Chappy. From galactic garnishes to iridescent drink presentations, the menu reinforced the immersive story while offering high-end hospitality.
This experiential launch event successfully combined immersive design, queer creativity, and strategic brand storytelling, leaving VIPs, press, and influencers with a lasting impression of Chappy’s new brand identity. Social buzz, guest feedback, and coverage confirmed the event as a highlight on the LGBTQ+ cultural calendar.
By fusing immersive dining, entertainment production, and identity-led brand experiences, Wonderosity helped position Planet Chappy not just as a dating app — but as a destination for modern queer connection.
