Kings Cross Pride Street Party
To celebrate Pride in a bold and beautiful way, Wonderosity teamed up with queer culture champions POLARI to deliver King’s Cross’ first ever Pride Street Party — a free, inclusive celebration that transformed the newly developed Coal Drops Yard into a vibrant playground of art, fashion, music and queer joy.
At the heart of the event was an immersive, open-air fashion show that brought the fantastical inflatable creations of artist and designer Jack Irving to life. Rather than a traditional runway, Wonderosity reimagined the entire space as a living catwalk — with towering, iridescent sculptures roaming amongst the crowds and performers weaving through the audience, blurring the lines between installation, fashion and performance. The result? A true spectacle that stopped shoppers in their tracks and flooded social media feeds.
From interactive vogue workshops with ballroom icon Jay Jay Revlon, to high-energy DJ sets from Savage Disco and Hot Chip, to a headline performance by queer electro-pop duo NIMMO — every element was curated to celebrate queer creativity and invite audiences to be more than just spectators. Guests could design their own Pride looks, pose with Sylvia K Doodles' illustrated beer can characters, and take part in live art installations that made every attendee feel like part of the story.
The impact went beyond performance. The activation saw a 300% increase in footfall across Coal Drops Yard and directly contributed to a measurable spike in sales for participating retailers and food vendors. Many shops reported their highest single-day takings since opening, while independent traders cited the event as a breakthrough in reaching new, diverse audiences.
Crucially, the Pride Street Party was open to all — a free, family-friendly and joyfully queer activation that embodied the spirit of inclusion and community that King’s Cross is fast becoming known for. The event attracted widespread press coverage, trended across social platforms, and cemented Coal Drops Yard as a cultural destination committed to championing diversity and creativity.
From concept and curation to creative production and live delivery, Wonderosity brought together the extraordinary to create a Pride event with real impact — socially, creatively, and commercially.
